Introducing the Vivo Vision: A Lighter and More Affordable Alternative to the Apple Vision Pro

Source: Date:

Chinese tech company Vivo has recently unveiled its new mixed reality headset, the Vivo Vision Discovery Edition. This device is being compared to Apple's Vision Pro due to its similar design, but it boasts a lighter and smaller construction. However, there's a catch - the Vivo Vision is currently only available for hands-on demos in select stores in China, making it inaccessible for purchase.

The Vivo Vision features dual 8K Micro-OLED displays with 94% DCI-P3 color coverage and 1.5-degree precision eye-tracking. It also offers fingertip gesture recognition across 26 degrees of freedom, providing users with a seamless interactive experience. Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR2+ chipset and running OriginOS Vision software, the headset supports various interactions and immersive activities such as movie watching, sports replays, and multitasking.

While the price of the Vivo Vision has not been officially announced, reports suggest it could be around $1,395. The device is expected to be limited to the Chinese market upon its release. This new contender in the mixed reality space signals a shift towards more affordable options for consumers, challenging established players like Apple to consider making their own offerings more accessible.
