Google has announced that its AI Mode in Search has expanded to 180 new countries and territories, making it easier for users to make restaurant reservations. This feature is currently only available in English and does not include EU countries at this time.
With the new agentic capabilities, users can now ask AI Mode to find restaurant reservations, with plans to expand to local service appointments and event tickets in the future. The AI will search across multiple reservation platforms and websites to find real-time availability based on the user's preferences.
Partnerships with companies like OpenTable, Resy, Tock, Ticketmaster, and others make the seamless reservation process possible. Users subscribed to Google AI Ultra in the US can access this feature through the "Agentic capabilities in AI Mode" experiment in Google Search Labs.
Additionally, users in the US can receive personalized dining recommendations tailored to their preferences through AI Mode. The feature takes into account previous conversations and searches to provide relevant options for users.
A new Share functionality allows users to easily collaborate and share information from AI Mode with others. This feature can be useful for tasks like trip planning or party organization.
