Google has rolled out a new feature for Google Photos alongside the launch of the Pixel 10 series. The app now boasts conversational AI-powered editing, initially available on Pixel 10 devices in the US. Users can now describe the edits they want to make using text or voice commands in the Photos editor, allowing the changes to be implemented seamlessly.

This innovative functionality is made possible through Google's Gemini technology, offering an intuitive editing experience where users can simply articulate their desired changes without specifying tools. Examples provided by Google include tasks like background removal, photo restoration, color correction, and enhancing overall image quality. Users can also receive suggestions for edits and provide follow-up instructions to further refine their photos.

Pixel 10 devices and Google Photos are also incorporating C2PA Content Credentials to provide transparency regarding image capture and editing processes. Users will be able to view detailed information about images based on C2PA Content Credentials directly within Google Photos, with this feature initially debuting on the Pixel 10 lineup and gradually expanding to Android and iOS devices in the coming weeks.
