Google Messages Introduces Message Recall Feature

Source: Date:

Google has recently rolled out a new feature for its Messages app that allows users to recall messages after they have been sent. This feature comes as part of the app's support for RCS messaging, which has brought a range of new capabilities to Google Messages.

By leveraging the RCS protocol, users can now delete messages not only from their own devices but also from the recipient's device. This feature gives users more control over their messages and provides an added layer of privacy and security.

Initially discovered in the source code a few months ago, the message recall feature is now widely available to all Google Messages users. When a user selects a message to delete, they will be prompted to choose between "Delete for everyone" and "Delete for me", giving them the option to remove messages from both ends of the conversation.

While similar features are available in other messaging apps, the addition of message recall to Google Messages is a significant development for users who rely on the platform for their communication needs.

Stay tuned for more updates and enhancements as Google continues to improve its Messages app.
