One UI 7.0, based on Android 15, allows users to access ongoing tasks on the lock screen through the Now Bar feature. Currently, 20 apps support the Now Bar, but Samsung plans to increase this number to 35 by the end of 2025. The new apps that will be added to the Now Bar support have not been revealed yet, but Samsung aims to enhance the phone experience by expanding this feature.
Additionally, the upcoming Android 16 introduces a standardized API that enables apps to display live updates on the lock screen and status bar. While the current version of One UI 8 does not utilize this system, future integration could potentially broaden Now Bar support for more apps.
In One UI 8, the Now Bar functionality will be enhanced for Galaxy Z Flip phones, allowing users to interact with Now Bar cards directly from both the cover and main screen. This improvement caters to users who prefer using their phones single-handedly or when the device is folded.
