Since the release of the Galaxy S22 Ultra in 2022, Samsung's flagship S-series phones have featured rear camera arrays without a camera island. However, the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra is set to undergo a redesign, as indicated by a leaked render shared by Ice Universe. The render, which is believed to closely resemble the actual phone, shows a significant change in the design of the rear camera module, now featuring a raised area for three of the four rear cameras.

According to Ice Universe, the redesign is not merely for aesthetic purposes. The rumored main and 5x telephoto cameras on the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature larger apertures, necessitating a larger opening in the lens to allow more light in. As a result, the lenses will occupy more space within the camera module.
Galaxy S26 Ultra is also expected to be thinner than its predecessor, the S25 Ultra.

Leaker Ice Universe explains the reason behind a potential design change.
