AT&T Emerges Victorious Over T-Mobile and Verizon in Latest Network Performance Report

Source: Date:
After a month of heated debate between T-Mobile and Verizon on who had the superior network, AT&T maintained a quiet presence and let the results speak for themselves. Mobile analytics firm RootMetrics recently released their findings for the first half of 2025, and AT&T came out on top as the top performer. Despite T-Mobile's claims of having the best network based on Ookla tests and Verizon's insistence on RootMetrics' reliability, AT&T proved to be the most reliable and fastest network in the latest report.
RootMetrics conducted over 3 million tests to measure the real-world performance of the three major mobile carriers in the US. The results showed AT&T leading the pack with a score of 97.7 for overall performance, closely followed by Verizon at 97.5. T-Mobile, while not at the top, still scored well across all metrics and was within striking distance of its competitors.
AT&T's network was found to be the most reliable and offered the fastest speed overall. Verizon excelled in responsiveness and video performance, while T-Mobile dominated in 5G availability and speed in major cities, showcasing a strong performance in the 5G space.
Despite the rankings, all three carriers offer competitive service, so the decision to choose a network should ultimately be based on the user's specific needs and the network's performance in their area.
