Rumors from China suggest that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, expected to be released in January, could come equipped with a significant camera upgrade.
Reportedly, the device may sport Sony's new 1/1.1" type camera sensor with a massive 200 MP resolution, a first for the Japanese tech giant.
Compared to the Samsung ISOCELL HP2 sensor used in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which also offers 200 MP resolution but is smaller at 1/1.3", the larger Sony sensor is expected to capture more light, potentially leading to improved photo quality.
While there is a possibility that Samsung might reserve the Sony sensor for the Galaxy S27 Ultra in 2027, the source of the rumor indicates that the S26 Ultra could indeed benefit from this camera upgrade.
