In a letter to the FCC, T-Mobile announced the removal of DEI programs, roles, and references from its materials, contradicting its previous claims of commitment to core values.
While FCC Chair Brendan Carr commended T-Mobile's decision as a positive step towards equal opportunity, FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez criticized the company for abandoning its pledge to support underrepresented groups. Despite the backlash, T-Mobile's decision to eliminate DEI policies is not unique, as other major companies have also scaled back their programs. This shift is expected to facilitate T-Mobile's pending acquisitions, potentially leading to improved services and pricing for customers.
