Samsung has recently unveiled a range of new security features integrated into the latest One UI 8, which is based on Android 16. The tech giant hinted that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7 will be among the first devices to run on Android 16 with One UI 8.
One of the key security updates is the introduction of Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), which establishes encrypted, app-specific storage environments within the device's secure storage area. This ensures that each app can only access its own sensitive information, enhancing data protection.
KEEP safeguards personal insights, such as user routines and preferences, supporting features like Now Brief and Smart Gallery search, while leveraging Samsung's Personal Data Engine (PDE). By safeguarding user-specific inputs, features like Now Brief, Smart Suggestions, and Samsung Moments can offer more advanced AI experiences without compromising user privacy.
Furthermore, One UI 8 introduces automatic sign-out from the Samsung account in cases of serious risk, like system manipulation or identity forgery, to prevent threats from spreading. The update also incorporates post-quantum cryptography into Secure Wi-Fi, enhancing network protection against evolving threats and ensuring robust privacy, even on public networks.
These latest security enhancements exemplify Samsung's commitment to providing users with a secure and private mobile experience.
