Apple Sees Sales Growth in China, but Huawei Still Dominates Market

Source: Date:

According to a recent report by Counterpoint Research, Apple's sales in China saw a growth for the first time in two years. The increase was driven by price cuts and government subsidy programs. Despite this growth, Huawei remains the leader in the Chinese market with a 12% year-over-year sales increase. Apple, on the other hand, is in third place behind Huawei and Vivo. The introduction of the iPhone 16e, a lower-cost model, also contributed to Apple's sales growth as it attracted buyers from the midrange market.

Intense competition

While Apple's sales showed positive growth, Huawei continues to dominate the market in China. Vivo, the second-largest brand by market share, saw a 9% drop in sales compared to last year. Apple's adjustment of iPhone prices and the launch of the iPhone 16e helped the company gain ground in the competitive market.

The iPhone 16e was a good move

The introduction of the iPhone 16e played a significant role in Apple's sales growth in China. The lower-cost model appealed to a wider range of consumers and expanded Apple's reach beyond the premium segment. While Apple's growth is noteworthy, Huawei remains the top player in the Chinese market.
