Important Security Features for Samsung Galaxy Users to Activate Immediately

As phone theft continues to be a threat, Samsung is urging Galaxy users to enable the latest anti-theft features available on their devices. These updates, part of One UI 7, aim to enhance personal data protection in cases of theft or loss.
Originally introduced with the Galaxy S25 series and now expanding to older models like the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Galaxy S23, and S22, these security updates bring key features such as Theft Detection Lock and Offline Device Lock to deter unauthorized access.
The new Theft Detection Lock uses motion detection to lock the screen immediately if a phone is snatched, while the Offline Device Lock secures the screen if the phone has been offline for a period of time. Samsung's Remote Lock feature allows users to lock their stolen device by verifying their phone number and regain access through Samsung's recovery tools.
Additional protections include Identity Check for extra security in unfamiliar locations and Security Delay, which imposes a one-hour wait time before any changes to biometric data can be made, giving users more time to respond to theft situations.
In case of a lost or stolen phone, users can utilize Samsung Find to remotely lock or erase their device, display a message or contact number on the lock screen, and track its location if connected to the internet. Samsung also recommends using Galaxy Watches and other devices to help locate missing phones or earbuds.
While these security features cannot completely prevent theft, they offer users more ways to safeguard their data and maintain control over their accounts during challenging circumstances. Samsung's proactive approach in highlighting these tools and providing updates underscores their commitment to enhancing user security.
