Exciting news has emerged regarding Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. Recent reports suggest that the chip is undergoing testing with CPU clocks exceeding 5GHz, potentially setting a new standard for clock speeds in smartphone chipsets.

Leakster Digital Chat Station revealed that Qualcomm is aiming for record high clock speeds with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. The chip is currently being tested at frequencies around 5GHz, with an overclocked version reportedly reaching 5.3GHz.

While these peak frequencies are still under validation, it is anticipated that the final clock speed will surpass that of its predecessor, the original Snapdragon 8 Elite. The new chipset is expected to offer enhanced performance and power efficiency, thanks to second-generation Oryon cores and an improved Adreno 840 GPU.

Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting development, as Qualcomm is set to announce more details at the upcoming Snapdragon Summit scheduled for September 23-25.
