This advanced feature, powered by Gemini 2.5, allows for more sophisticated reasoning and utilizes a fan-out technique to break down queries into subtopics for a comprehensive response. Users can ask follow-up questions and even input search queries through voice or images with Google Lens integration. AI Mode can handle longer prompts and is accessible on both Android and iOS devices.
To utilize AI Mode, simply tap on the new shortcut within the Google search bar, available on the web as well. The feature provides links to sources used and allows for in-depth exploration of topics.
