Source: Date:

Nvidia has recently revealed their latest addition to the RTX 50-series lineup, the GeForce RTX 5050. Priced at $249, this compact GPU is set to hit the market in the second half of July.

The RTX 5050 boasts a new GB207 die based on the Blackwell architecture, featuring 2560 CUDA cores - two thirds of the RTX 5060 launched earlier this year. Equipped with 5th generation Tensor cores and 4th generation RT cores, this GPU supports advanced features like DLSS4 and the upcoming Reflex 2.

Operating at frequencies of 2.31GHz base and up to 2.57GHz boost, the RTX 5050 comes with 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit interface. In terms of connectivity, it offers 3x DisplayPort 2.1b and 1x HDMI 2.1b ports, along with a 9th generation NVENC encoder and 6th generation NVDEC decoder. The GPU requires 130W of power and can be powered by either a single 8-pin connector or a 300W PCIe Gen 5 cable.

Nvidia claims a significant performance boost with the RTX 5050, showcasing a 60% improvement in raster performance compared to the RTX 3050 released three years ago. It is also positioned closely in terms of performance to the RTX 4060 from two years back.

Consumers can expect the RTX 5050 to be available for purchase from major board partners like ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, Galaxy, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, MSI, Palit, PNY, and ZOTAC. While there is no Founders Edition model, the GPU will offer a wide range of custom variants.

Additionally, Nvidia will also be releasing a mobile version of the RTX 5050, with laptops featuring this GPU hitting the market starting at $999.
