Apple's latest update, iOS 26, has sparked a range of reactions among users. While the introduction of new features has garnered praise, the changes to the user interface have received mixed reviews. Currently only available as a developer beta, the stable release is expected to coincide with the launch of the iPhone 17 series.
In a recent poll, approximately half of participants expressed their approval for the iOS 26 update, particularly highlighting the new features it brings to the table.
On the other hand, opinions on the new Liquid Glass design language are more divided, with a minority of users being fans. While some appreciate the improved glass visuals and expanded customization options, others view it as nothing more than a superficial change to the UI. Concerns have also been raised regarding the increased computational requirements, leading to issues such as higher battery consumption and heat generation. However, it is worth noting that the Accessibility settings now include a toggle to reduce UI transparency, addressing some legibility issues.

While a considerable number of voters expressed dissatisfaction with both the new features and the updated look, some of this sentiment can be attributed to a general bias against Apple products. Nonetheless, longtime Apple users have raised concerns about the direction of the UI changes.
As iOS 26 is still in the development phase, there is room for Apple to make further adjustments before the public release in Q4. Subsequent updates will likely continue refining the design based on user feedback.
