Verizon customers who have been using the streaming digital marketplace to pay for all their streaming services through their Verizon account will soon have to find an alternative. The telecommunications giant has decided to retire its streaming marketplace next month, as stated on the +play website. Starting July 9, new enrollments will no longer be accepted.
According to a report by The Streamable, Verizon has confirmed the move, citing the popularity of its myPlan and myHome services among customers. These services offer exclusive savings on top entertainment platforms and provide a simple and easy way to access streaming services.
Current Verizon customers will be able to keep and manage any active +play subscriptions, but after July 9, they will need to explore new content subscription options available through myPlan and myHome perks at Service & Perks.
Verizon will soon notify customers about the discontinuation of the +play marketplace, which was launched nearly three years ago. Customers will no longer have access to the perks and discounts offered through +play subscriptions.
