Rumors surrounding the upcoming iPhone 17 generation have sparked curiosity, particularly regarding the Pro Max model's Dynamic Island. While changes are expected for this year's release, the real excitement lies in the speculated features of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models. According to reports from renowned Chinese leakster, Digital Chat Station, the iPhone 18 Pro series is set to revolutionize the smartphone industry.

Boasting 6.27” and 6.86” OLED displays for the Pro and Pro Max respectively, these models will introduce LTPO panels with 1.5K resolution. The key highlight, however, is the implementation of HIAA technology for the selfie camera along with an under-display Face ID system.

HIAA technology, also known as “Hole-in-Active-Area”, involves creating a punch hole design on the display, allowing the camera lens below to have a clear view without compromising screen quality.

Face ID as introduced with the iPhone X

While the incorporation of Face ID into the display has long been anticipated, the technological challenges involved have delayed its implementation until the iPhone 18 Pro series. Face ID relies on a complex system of infrared light projection, making compatibility with under-display camera technology a potential obstacle. However, Apple's pioneering efforts and prototype testing suggest that a breakthrough is on the horizon.

Despite previous rumors surrounding earlier iPhone generations, it seems that the future of smartphone authentication lies with the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, promising a seamless user experience and cutting-edge technology.
