Financial Times is highlighting the impact of AI on telecommunications giant BT Group in the UK, which is set to cut over 40,000 jobs due to advancements in technology. This development serves as a warning for major US telcos like AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile to pay attention and prepare for potential job cuts as AI continues to revolutionize the industry. While US telcos have already started implementing AI in their operations, the need for efficiency and cost-cutting measures may lead to similar workforce reductions in the future.

AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile take notes? I'm far from the thought that the big three US telcos are not looking for ways to implement AI in their day-to-day operations – and they're alreadydoing it – what's more, I'm sure massive job cuts will happen at a point in time. The US telcos just need to come up with a reasonably sane chatbot assistant and it'll do the trick.
