New iOS 26 Feature Helps Users Combat Voicemail Spam

Source: Date:

Apple's latest update, iOS 26, introduces a helpful feature in the Phone app aimed at tackling voicemail spam. Alongside enhancements like Hold Assist and Call Screening, users now have the ability to flag spam voicemails and report them directly to Apple. This new tool empowers users to take action against unwanted calls and contributes to a safer and more secure calling experience.

When identifying a spam voicemail, users can report it from within the Phone app. Upon tapping the option to flag the voicemail as spam, the message is sent to Apple for review. Users then have the choice to report the message and retain it in their voicemail inbox or report it and delete it altogether. This proactive approach to identifying and addressing spam calls is a welcome addition to iOS 26's repertoire of features.

Similar to the functionality of reporting spam in iMessage, blocking the sender of the voicemail must be done separately if desired. This nuanced approach ensures that users have full control over managing spam calls on their devices.
