Recently, Verizon announced an expansion of its 5G Network Slice technology to 50 major markets nationwide, catering to First Responders through its Verizon FrontLine service. This upgrade is available in all regions where Verizon offers its C-band powered 5G Ultra Wideband service, providing a reliable network infrastructure for emergency personnel.
"Verizon Frontline Network Slice - Connected Vehicle1 offers a dedicated 5G Ultra Wideband virtual network for First Responders, ensuring consistent performance in high-traffic scenarios for connected devices. This advancement underscores our commitment to supporting public safety agencies nationwide," stated Verizon Frontline.
The utilization of mid-band spectrum allows Verizon to offer wider coverage and faster speeds than traditional 5G networks. Furthermore, network slicing enables the customization of network resources for specific requirements, such as prioritizing bandwidth for live video transmissions from body cameras and drones during emergency responses.
Kyle Malady, CEO of Verizon Business, emphasized the crucial role of Verizon Frontline in meeting the specialized needs of First Responders. By harnessing network slices, Verizon ensures low latency, enhanced reliability, and tailored network performance to empower instant decision-making and information access for emergency personnel.
