Samsung Foundry has been working on improving the yield of its 2nm GAA process node to finalize the specifications for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. Despite initial trials showing yields in the 30% range, the Exynos 2600 chipset is now in prototype mass production stage.
Efforts are being made to increase the yield from 30% to 70% to make mass production of the Exynos 2600 feasible. The chipset, featuring Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistors, is expected to offer improved performance and energy efficiency.
If successful, the Exynos 2600 could be powering the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ in various markets, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 AP by TSMC might be used in select regions. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is anticipated to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 AP.
