Google has officially released the stable version of Android 16 for its Pixel devices, including the Pixel 6 series, Pixel Tablet, and more. This update brings several new features and improvements to the devices, making them more efficient and user-friendly.

Some of the key features of the Android 16 stable update include support for adaptive apps, grouped notifications, Live updates for ongoing activities, and advanced protection against online threats. Additionally, users will also benefit from a new desktop windowing option for tablets, custom keyboard shortcuts, HDR screenshots, adaptive refresh rate controls, and identity check.

While the Material 3 Expressive and Desktop mode features are not included in this release, Google has introduced them in the developer-focused Android 16 QPR 2 beta. The new Desktop mode allows users to connect their device to an external monitor and run multiple apps with resizable windows, making multitasking more convenient.
