Snap Inc. announced that its upcoming AR glasses, named Specs, will be launched for commercial availability in 2026. The announcement was made during the Augmented World Expo (AWE) 2025, where Snap also unveiled updates to Snap OS and new tools for developers.

According to Snap's co-founder and CEO, Evan Spiegel, the Specs AR glasses are poised to revolutionize computing by seamlessly integrating digital experiences with the physical world. These glasses are said to be the most advanced personal computer in existence, featuring see-through lenses that enhance real-world experiences with digital content. Snap has invested over $3 billion in AR glasses technology over the past 11 years.

Aside from the launch timeframe of Specs, Snap also shared details about its partnerships with OpenAI, Google Cloud's Gemini, Niantic Spatial, and the upcoming WebXR support in the browser. The company is focused on building AI-powered mapping technology to enhance location-based experiences for users.
