Say goodbye to Launchpad: macOS 26 Tahoe introduces a new app organization system

Source: Date:
Apple has bid farewell to Launchpad in its latest macOS 26 Tahoe update. The revamped operating system for Macs brings a significant change in how users find and organize their apps. Instead of Launchpad, macOS 26 features a new interface that categorizes apps into Utilities, Productivity and Finance, Social, Creativity, Information and Reading, Entertainment, and Other. Additionally, there is a new Suggested section at the top of the interface for easy access to recommended apps. Users can customize the app organization view, choosing between a tiled view or a list view sorted by category or app name.
Users can also create their own Quick Keys from Spotlight results to further streamline app access. Shortcuts like Command + 1 for Applications, Command + 2 for Files, Command + 3 for Actions, and Command + 4 for Clipboard can be utilized for quick navigation. The redesign in macOS 26 Tahoe aims to enhance user experience and efficiency in app management.
