Apple Unveils Foundation Models Framework for Developers to Harness Apple Intelligence

Apple has introduced the Foundation Models framework, enabling developers to utilize its Apple Intelligence system in their apps for the first time. This new framework, revealed during WWDC 2025, grants developers access to Apple's on-device large language models through a straightforward and privacy-centric setup. It is compatible with the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 series, as well as any iPad or Mac featuring Apple silicon.

Because the Foundation Models framework is designed for Swift and seamlessly integrates with Apple's existing tools, developers using SwiftUI and Xcode 26 can easily incorporate these features without the need for extensive app modifications.
