WhatsApp has recently introduced a new feature that allows users to give permission for others to share their status updates. This feature is currently available in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android and is expected to be rolled out to the non-beta version soon.
By default, the sharing of status updates will be turned off. Users will have the option to enable sharing for each status update they create, and they will receive notifications when someone shares their status. However, the original creator of the status will remain anonymous when it is shared.
If a shared status is re-shared by someone else, only the initial sharer will be notified. This new feature expands the visibility of status updates beyond just those who are directly mentioned, allowing for greater reach and engagement.
