Google is continuing to enhance its Gemini platform by introducing automatic AI-generated summaries for emails. This update indicates a shift towards Gemini becoming the default assistant for Google account holders. Currently, this feature is being rolled out to Google Workspace users, Gemini Education add-on users, and Google One AI Premium subscribers. The rollout is limited to English emails on mobile devices, with a estimated completion time of two weeks. While the availability of this feature for regular Gmail accounts and desktop users is uncertain, it is highly probable that the update will eventually extend to these users as well.

Google also announced other improvements to Gemini, such as Gemini in Chrome, Deep Research, Canvas upgrades, and the introduction of an Ultra plan for its AI subscription service priced at $249 per month. The tech industry as a whole is increasingly embracing AI technology, with Apple being one of the few companies lagging behind in this regard.
