Google Maps has rolled out a new look for its iOS and Android versions, featuring a revamped logo. The logo, now in black and white with the text "Google Maps," replaces the previous colorful Google logo. While this update may not directly impact navigation, it hints at possible branding changes by Google in the future.
On Android devices, the new logo is visible in version 25.21 of Google Maps, and on iOS devices, it can be seen in version 25.22. However, the update has not yet been implemented across all platforms, with the mobile web variant of Google Maps still featuring the old logo.
Users can access Google Maps on their Android phones by default, while iPhone users can download the app from the App Store. Additionally, Android users have the option to explore Apple Maps on certain mobile browsers.
