Apple and Samsung Lead Q1 Smartphone Sales in Europe

Source: Date:

In the first quarter of the year, Apple and Samsung dominated the European smartphone market with their top-selling devices. According to Counterpoint Research's latest report, Apple's iPhone 16 series took the top three spots, while Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25 secured fourth and fifth place.

The iPhone 16 Pro emerged as the best-selling smartphone in the region, capturing 6% of all smartphone sales. Following closely were the iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16, each holding a 5% share.

Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25 garnered 3% of total sales, with the previous year's Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy A55 trailing behind. The newcomer iPhone 16e made it to the top ten list in its debut month of availability, despite facing stiff competition from Apple's other models.

Counterpoint Research also noted that the iPhone 16e's initial sales were behind the iPhone SE (2020) and SE (2022) models due to its higher price point. Apple's iPhone 15, from the previous year, also maintained its position as one of the top-selling smartphones in Q1.
