Following the release of the Oppo Find X8 Ultra in April, durability testing has been conducted by Zack from JerryRigEverything. While the device is only available in China, Zack managed to get his hands on one to put its durability to the test.
During the testing, the Oppo Find X8 Ultra went through the typical durability assessments. The glass on the screen performed well, scratching at level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale and showing deeper grooves at level 7. The metal frame and screen also underwent testing with an open flame leaving no visible marks.
However, the bend test revealed a concerning result. When bent from the front, the frame of the device separated along the antenna line between the power and volume buttons. While no further damage was incurred, the unusual shape and potential compromise of the IP rating are points of concern.
