Windows 10 Users Urged to Upgrade to Windows 11 with New Microsoft Tool

Source: Date:
Windows 10 users are being strongly encouraged to upgrade to Windows 11 as the end of support for Windows 10 approaches. Microsoft has recently introduced a new tool to facilitate a smooth transition for users looking to make the switch. Originally announced at Microsoft Ignite in November 2024, this tool is now available for limited public preview. It is designed to help businesses back up and restore Windows settings, making it easier for organizations to upgrade to Windows 11 without starting from scratch. The tool offers benefits such as less troubleshooting, smoother transitions, and increased productivity for users. To use the tool, systems must be Microsoft Entra joined (Windows 10 or 11) and organizations interested in trying it out need to sign up for the public preview. With over half of all Windows users still on Windows 10, Microsoft aims to upgrade or enroll them in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program by October. Windows Backup for Organizations could be the solution businesses need to facilitate a successful upgrade to Windows 11.
