Google Photos is celebrating its ten-year anniversary with a host of exciting new features. The highlight of these updates is the redesigned editor, which offers users a more intuitive editing experience. With AI-powered suggestions that combine multiple effects and the ability to focus on specific areas of an image, users can easily enhance their photos in creative ways. The new editor will be available globally on Android next month, with iOS users gaining access later this year.

In addition to the editor, Google Photos now allows users to share albums using QR codes and create personal montages to share with others. The new Places feature enables users to explore their photo collection geographically, with all images pinned on an interactive map. Searching for photos has also been improved, with the ability to search for specific items without the need for keywords.

Furthermore, Google Photos will continue to generate Best of Month and Year End Recaps automatically. Users can customize their photo feed by stacking similar pictures taken close together or hiding certain types of images like screenshots, GIFs, and memes. Personalization options also extend to hiding specific people, pets, or dates, as well as choosing between time-based or themed memories.
