Top Traded iPhone Model Last Quarter Revealed

Source: Date:
Trade-ins have become increasingly popular among consumers looking to upgrade their devices. The allure of receiving a good deal, such as trading in an old iPhone for credit towards a newer model, has driven this trend. According to a recent report from Assurant, trade-in and upgrade programs saw a significant increase in returns to consumers during the first quarter of 2025, totaling $1.24 billion.
The top traded iPhone model for the third consecutive quarter was the iPhone 13, while the leading Android device in trade-ins was the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G. Notably, 5G-enabled phones dominated the top traded devices list, with the iPhone 11 being the only non-5G compatible model on the list.

Despite the rising age of devices being traded in, the average trade-in age for iPhones is 3.79 years, and for Androids, it is 3.93 years. However, consumers are still able to receive substantial credit from carriers and retailers, making it easier to afford a new phone.
Assurant's findings suggest that most consumers are motivated to trade in their devices when presented with special deals, as their current phones continue to perform well and meet their needs.
