WhatsApp is always looking to improve user experience by adding new features and functionalities. In the latest beta version for Android, a Logout option has been discovered in the Account settings, indicating that users will soon have the option to easily log out of their accounts.
When the feature goes live, users will be able to choose between two options when logging out. One option will log them out while also erasing all their data and preferences, while the other option will allow them to log out without losing any data or preferences.

WhatsApp Logout option in testing
If users choose the option to erase data, it will be similar to uninstalling WhatsApp, as it will log them out and delete all app data and preferences. However, this option will not remove users from groups. On the other hand, choosing the option to keep data will log users out without affecting their chats, group chats, data, and preferences, allowing for a seamless return to the app by simply signing in again with their phone number.
This new feature is ideal for users who want to temporarily take a break from WhatsApp. The Logout option is currently labeled as "Internal," indicating that it is still in the testing phase within the WhatsApp development team. It is expected to be released to beta users before a stable release to all users.
