Apple expands Self Service Repair Program to include iPads

Apple has recently announced the expansion of its Self Service Repair Program to include iPads, allowing users access to genuine parts and tools to repair their tablets at home. Starting from May 29, select iPad models will be added to the program, marking a significant shift in Apple's repair policies.

Users will have the ability to order official Apple parts, tools, and manuals for supported iPad models through the Self Service Repair Store. Components such as batteries, displays, cameras, and charging ports are covered, with access to troubleshooting resources and guided repair sessions to aid in the process.

Eligible iPads for the program include:

  • iPad Air (M2 and newer)
  • iPad Pro (M4)
  • iPad mini (A17 Pro)
  • iPad (A16)

Customers who recycle their old parts at Apple will receive credit towards their purchase, promoting sustainability and waste reduction.
