Samsung has unveiled its latest XR device, the Project Moohan headset, which is currently in development in partnership with Google. This cutting-edge headset, expected to be released later this year under the name Galaxy XR, features the powerful Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip designed specifically for XR applications.
The Project Moohan headset, with the model number SM-I610, has made an appearance on Geekbench, revealing its impressive specifications. The device is powered by a six-core processor based on Cortex-A78C architecture, with two cores running at 2.36GHz and four cores at 2.05GHz. It also comes with an Adreno 740 GPU for enhanced graphics performance.
Furthermore, the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip offers advanced features such as low-latency full-color see-through display, support for Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, and VR-specific technologies like foveated rendering and Qualcomm's Space Warp frame prediction technology. With 16GB of RAM and running Android 14 (potentially the new Android XR OS), the Project Moohan headset promises a seamless and immersive XR experience.
In addition to Project Moohan, Samsung is also working on two more XR devices, known as Project Haean and Project Jinju, which are expected to have a smart glasses form factor. These devices, powered by the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip and featuring 16GB of RAM, showcase Samsung's commitment to pushing the boundaries of XR technology.
