Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic: A Closer Look at What’s Missing
Samsung's much-anticipated Galaxy Watch 8 Classic has been generating a lot of buzz, but recent reports have suggested that not all of its features will be a significant upgrade over its predecessor. While the smartwatch is expected to be launched in July, Samsung fans are already discovering some key details that might leave them wanting more.
Leaks about the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic have been circulating for some time, with high-resolution renders and spec details emerging earlier this week. Android Authority has now uncovered information about its hardware that might temper expectations for this upcoming release. While the smartwatch will likely carry the same Exynos W1000 chipset as the Galaxy Watch 7 series, this could mean a lack of significant performance improvements.
The Exynos W1000 chipset was previously used in the Galaxy Watch 7, meaning that despite being a new generation of watches, the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic might not offer the kind of performance leap some users are hoping for.
Despite some of these concerns, the Galaxy Watch 8 series is expected to offer a range of choices. It is expected to come in two different sizes, with the Classic variant being available only in a 47mm option. However, there is good news for those looking to buy: Samsung fans will still have the option of choosing between Bluetooth and LTE versions of the Watch 8 Classic.
The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, along with its standard sibling, will likely be launched in July alongside Samsung's new foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. For many, the lack of significant upgrades may be a bit disappointing, but there are still high hopes for the device's overall performance and features.
