Google continues to expand its support for banks and credit unions on its Google Wallet platform. This week, over three dozen new financial institutions have been added, bringing the total number of supported banks and credit unions in the US to over 5,000. Some of the newly added institutions include Access Credit Union, Bank Of Wisconsin Dells, Fidelity Bank of Texas, and The Commercial Bank.
Google Wallet is more than just a mobile payment app - it now serves as a digital wallet where users can manage their credit/debit cards, store passes, tickets, keys, and even IDs. Google Pay is available in 94 countries and continues to add new banks to its list of supported institutions each month.
