Why I Decided to Leave Verizon After 20 Years (UPDATE)

UPDATE:After a disappointing experience with Verizon's customer service, I have decided to switch carriers after being a loyal customer for 20 years. Despite a review of my call revealing that important information was not disclosed to me, the lack of transparency and poor communication has led me to seek a new provider. Moving forward, Verizon's Executive Office is implementing new measures to ensure customers are fully informed when making plan changes. However, the damage has been done and I am exploring other options.
During the upgrade process, a Verizon representative misled me about the changes to my plan, resulting in the loss of valuable perks such as Hulu, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, and Google Play Pass. This incident further highlights the deceptive practices within the mobile industry, regardless of customer loyalty. Despite requesting to speak to a supervisor for resolution, the promised callback was never received. This experience has prompted me to consider switching to a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) for more transparent and cost-effective service.
With MVNOs offering competitive rates and services while operating on major carrier networks, options like Visible, Google Fi, Cricket Wireless, and Xfinity Mobile are worth exploring. The decision to leave Verizon after two decades reflects the need for a trustworthy and customer-focused relationship with a mobile service provider. It is time to prioritize a company that values integrity and transparency in their business practices.
