Samsung's Now Bar, a key feature of the One UI 7 based on Android 15, is making its way to the company's smartwatches running Wear OS with the upcoming One UI 8 Watch update. A leaked version of a system app has revealed code strings and references to the Now Bar, hinting at its imminent arrival on Galaxy Watches.
Users will have the option to display just an icon or both the icon and text on the watch face when active. Gesture-based actions, such as double-pinching, will allow users to access the Now Bar and perform additional actions when there is no current content. The Now Bar will serve as a widget system, providing contextually relevant data directly on the watch face.
From contextual suggestions to maps information, media controls, Now Brief updates, usage tips, and live sports scores via Sports on Google, the Now Bar will offer a range of features to enhance the user experience. Furthermore, additional categories may be introduced in future updates to further enhance its functionality.
