The beta program for One UI 8 may not be available for all devices and markets initially, with only select devices in limited markets getting access. The new iteration of Samsung's custom UI, based on Android 16, is expected to be publicly released in the second half of the year. There are speculations that it may debut with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 foldable phones, or shortly after their launch.
One UI 8 is expected to bring improvements to the Now Bar feature introduced in One UI 7. The updated Now Bar will offer more information at a glance, enhancing its usability on the lock screen. As Samsung works on optimizing its software experience, rival companies like Apple are also preparing for significant updates with iOS 19 and the upcoming iPhone 17 series.
