After facing the threat of a ban in the US, TikTok has been given another extension by President Trump, allowing the social media platform to continue its operations in the country for the foreseeable future.
Recently, TikTok held a gathering with major advertisers in Manhattan to showcase its plans for the future. Khartoon Weiss, the VP of Global Business Solutions, emphasized the platform's presence in the US market, stating, "TikTok is here – we are here."
With an increasing number of users turning to TikTok as an alternative to traditional search engines, the platform boasts 170 million users in the US alone. The event, hosted by Hasan Minhaj, featured presentations of new marketing tools for advertisers from companies like L'Oreal and Unilever.
Despite interest from US companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and MrBeast in acquiring TikTok, no mention was made of a potential sale from its current Chinese owner, ByteDance, during the event.
It remains to be seen how TikTok will navigate its future in the US market amidst ongoing discussions about its ownership and potential ban.
