Samsung has reportedly begun software development for its upcoming Fan Edition smartphone, the Galaxy S25 FE. According to a new report, firmware work has started for the U.S. unlocked model, with the initial firmware version being S731USQU0AYDH. The Galaxy S25 FE will run on Android 16 with Samsung's One UI 8.0 interface, potentially receiving up to seven major Android updates.

A Brief Overview of Fan Edition Phones

The Galaxy S20 FE paved the way for Samsung's Fan Edition smartphones, offering flagship features at a more affordable price point. Following its success, Samsung introduced the S21 FE, S23 FE, and S24 FE models, with the S25 FE rumored to be in the works for a release later this year or early next year.

Rumored Specifications

Rumors suggest that the Galaxy S25 FE could be powered by the Exynos 2400e chip, the same processor found in the Galaxy S24 FE. While earlier speculation pointed towards a MediaTek processor, recent information leans towards the Exynos chip for the upcoming device. The reuse of older components aligns with Samsung's strategy for the FE lineup, balancing performance and cost-effectiveness.
