Android users will now have the convenience of saving and sharing digital credentials with the latest update to Android's Credential Manager. Google has integrated support for OpenID4VP and OpenID4VCI standards to enable the storage and presentation of digital credentials within compatible apps.
Through the DigitalCredential API, users can securely store documents such as driver's licenses, passports, education certificates, and more on their devices. These cryptographically verifiable credentials can be easily shared across apps while maintaining privacy and security through encrypted communication channels.
