Samsung has surprised customers by expediting the rollout of the highly anticipated One UI 7 update to a selection of its older flagship devices. Initially planned for a gradual release over three months, the tech giant has managed to compress the timeline, delivering the update to some devices much earlier than expected.
The latest recipient of the One UI 7 update is the Galaxy S22 series, with the update first becoming available in South Korea before making its way to other regions. Weighing in at around 4.5 GB, users are advised to ensure they have sufficient storage space before downloading the update.
Notably, One UI 7, based on Android 15, is not the final OS update for the Galaxy S22 series. The devices are set to receive at least one more major update in the form of Android 16, expected to arrive next year.
The accelerated rollout of One UI 7 marks a departure from Samsung's traditional update schedule, providing users with access to the latest features and enhancements sooner than anticipated.
Stay tuned for further updates on One UI 7 and Samsung's ongoing commitment to delivering timely software updates to its customers.
