Vivo X200 Ultra Camera Features Previewed with Impressive Hardware Specifications

Source: Date:

As the launch of the Vivo X200 Ultra approaches next week, the company has released a dynamic 5-minute video showcasing its next-generation camera capabilities. With a robust setup and advanced processing power, this smartphone is poised to make a significant impact in mobile photography.

The video highlights the Vivo X200 Ultra's sophisticated camera configuration, which includes three distinct lenses: a 14mm ultra-wide lens, a 35mm main lens, and an 85mm telephoto lens. Notably, both the ultra-wide and main cameras utilize the same large 1/1.28” Sony LYT-818 sensor. The main lens is equipped with an f/1.69 aperture, while the ultra-wide lens features an f/2.0 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for enhanced photographic clarity.

The telephoto lens is an 85mm Zeiss APO variant, designed to eliminate color aberrations with its advanced optics. This module is equipped with a staggering 200MP sensor that allows for extreme zoom capabilities beyond the standard 85mm range.

The ultra-wide camera, besides its OIS system capable of correcting up to 2° of movement, pairs impressively with electronic stabilization, resulting in impressive video performance as seen in prior demonstrations this year.

For videographers, the Vivo X200 Ultra will support recording in 4K resolution at 120fps across all cameras and can also manage 4K at 60fps with 10-bit log options. Additional features include DCG HDR capabilities and a remarkable 14 stops of dynamic range.

Camera Features

A standout feature of the Vivo X200 Ultra is its dual image processing capabilities. The newly designed vivo VS1, a pre-processing chip termed an “AI ISP,” offers exceptional performance with an output of 80 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second). To put this into perspective, Microsoft has a minimum requirement of 40 TOPS for its AI Copilot+ program, and the Snapdragon X Elite NPU offers 45 TOPS, underscoring the sophisticated processing backing the Vivo X200 Ultra.

Camera Technology

Leading up to the launch, Vivo has shared various sample shots taken with the X200 Ultra, demonstrating its capabilities in ultra-wide, zoom, and portrait photography.

The company is also developing an innovative photography kit, which will include a 200mm add-on lens designed to enhance the phone's 3.7x periscope for up to 8.7x optical zoom and 70x hybrid zoom capability, promising impressive results with specifications such as a 35x/800mm range touted as “highly usable.”

Zoom Capabilities

The Vivo X200 Ultra is set to fully launch next week, alongside the Vivo X200s, marking a new chapter in Vivo’s smartphone offerings.
