Google has recently updated its minimum RAM and storage requirements for Android devices with the release of Android 15. The new requirements include a minimum of 32GB of storage for smartphones that wish to have Google Mobile Services preinstalled on their devices. Additionally, devices with 2GB and 3GB of RAM are now required to use Android Go Edition, while devices with less than 2GB of RAM will not be able to access Google Mobile Services at all. Google is also enforcing a minimum RAM requirement of 6GB for devices running full Android starting from Android 16.

Furthermore, Google is implementing new features such as the option for users to share their emergency contacts data with the system's Emergency Location Service during emergency calls. This feature allows users to opt-in to share their emergency contacts and location data with emergency services for quick assistance during emergencies. Google has set clear guidelines for disclosing information shared with emergency services and ensures that the sharing of emergency contact data is opt-in to protect user privacy.
