Introduction
Verizon is making strides to enhance its mobile coverage in Pennsylvania by addressing areas with limited connectivity. Following T-Mobile's recent satellite service launch to tackle dead zones, Verizon is gearing up to improve communications by constructing a new cell tower. This initiative marks a significant step towards providing reliable service for residents in Murrysville and nearby regions.
Verizon is set to enhance coverage in Murrysville, Pennsylvania, by constructing a new cell tower aimed at eliminating another notorious dead zone where coverage is scarce. The Murrysville council has granted a conditional-use permit to Verizon and its contractor to build the tower on Lasher Court, which will include additional infrastructure like fences. This area has been known for dropped calls and poor service between Mamont and Ashbaugh roads.
Initially, Verizon and its contractor sought to utilize an existing tall structure to comply with local regulations, but found no suitable candidates within a two-mile radius. While local laws encourage the sharing of structures like water towers to support telecommunications, there were none available within a quarter-mile for Verizon to utilize.
