Apple Reportedly Planning to Expand Manufacturing Operations in Brazil to Avoid Tariffs

Source: Date:

Reports suggest that Apple is considering expanding its manufacturing facility in Brazil in order to circumvent the high tariffs imposed on Chinese imports by the Trump Administration.

With the recent tariffs on Chinese and Indian imports, Apple is facing increased taxes on its hardware products. To mitigate these costs, Apple is looking into expanding its assembly operations in Brazil, where import taxes are significantly lower at 10%.

Apple has reportedly begun planning for this expansion in 2024, with the goal of assembling the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro in Brazil. This move would not only meet local demand but also allow Apple to export some of the production to the US, thereby avoiding a large portion of the tariffs.
